Holzer is proud to share that since 2017, our organization and Nationwide Children’s Hospital have built a collaborative partnership. This partnership allows Holzer pediatric and neonatal patients to receive the expertise and resources offered by Nationwide Children's in Columbus, Ohio right here at home.
The collaboration offers increased access for area residents to Nationwide Children's pediatric specialists and extends state-of-the-art pediatric research and clinical trials to Southeast Ohio. In addition, Holzer providers receive advanced education and training as well as direct consultation with specialists at Nationwide Children’s in Columbus.
“Through this affiliation, Holzer is able to offer an even higher level of care for our neonatal and pediatric patients,” stated Susan Rowe, RN, MSN, C-EFM, Director, Holzer Gallipolis Women and Children Services. “Additional training opportunities and educational resources with Nationwide Children’s Hospital will allow us to expand upon the quality care we currently provide.”
Nationwide Children's is able to leverage their neonatal and pediatric expertise to enhance the exceptional care already in place at Holzer. The partnership meets the needs of the community physicians and their patients/families. Nationwide physician and nursing teams collaborate on protocol development, education initiatives, neonatal nursery telemedicine support and clinic development. “We value this partnership and the proactive approach to optimizing neonatal and pediatric care for our children and families of the communities we serve,” continued Rowe.
Holzer's Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine providers are available in Gallipolis, Jackson, Athens, and Pomeroy, Ohio, and Point Pleasant, West Virginia, focusing on the development, wellness, and conditions of babies, children, and teenagers. Our clinical locations see patients of all ages in an outpatient setting and if the need arises; our inpatient pediatric unit in Gallipolis is staffed with highly trained medical professionals to care for your children around the clock. All Pediatricians and nursing staff are Pediatric Advanced Life support (PALS) trained, as well as receiving a Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
