National Immunization Month Observed in August

National Immunization Month

National Immunization Month

National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is observed each August to acknowledge the importance of immunizations for all ages. You can protect yourself and your loved ones from serious and preventable diseases such as the flu, cancers caused by HPV, and chicken pox.

During NIAM, Holzer Health System encourages you to talk to your primary care provider to ensure that you and your family are up to date on recommended vaccines. While COVID-19 has potentially changed the way in which you visit your doctor, it is still important to make sure your well-checks and immunization schedules are maintained.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides an extensive online library with videos explaining why keeping up to date with your vaccines is important. You can visit https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/events/niam/index.html for more information.

At Holzer, our Family Practice and Internal Medicine providers are available for routine check-ups, chronic illness management, health risk assessments, immunizations, health maintenance plans, and specialized medical care plans based on services needed.

In addition, we encourage our patients to utilize myholzer.com, our patient portal, to manage your health. Through the portal, you can schedule appointments, request prescription refills, send messages to your provider, view test results and more. For more information visit www.holzer.org or call 1-855-4-HOLZER.
