Holzer Honors Barbie Johnson, RRT, with PHIL Award
Holzer Health System has selected Barbie Johnson, RRT, as the recipient of The PHIL Award. This annual award is part of The FACES Foundation's program to recognize exemplary respiratory care. The PHIL Award is the only nationally recognized hospital-based program that honors outstanding respiratory therapists, as nominated by patients, their family members, and other caregivers. This is the second year for Holzer to implement and present the PHIL award at our organization.
Barbie Johnson, RRT
Barbie joined Holzer in June 2007. She has worked in the Inpatient settings as well as the Meigs Emergency Department and is currently working in the Gallipolis Emergency Department. She completed her education at the University of Rio Grande, graduating in the first Respiratory Therapy program class in 2007. When asked about the PHIL award, she replied, “It’s an honor to receive this award. I sincerely love being a Respiratory Therapist and helping people breath better. We have great respiratory therapists throughout the Holzer system that go above and beyond. I’m proud to be a part of a wonderful family of healthcare providers.”
Barbie and her husband, Todd, reside in Bidwell, and have four children and five grandchildren. They enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with family.
Annually, Holzer will select one respiratory therapist from the nominations received. During an award presentation, the honoree is presented with a certificate and award sculpture entitled
Appreciation, which was adapted by creator MK Shannon especially for The PHIL Award.
“We are proud to partner with The FACES Foundation to recognize and honor our outstanding respiratory therapists,” said Luke Rice, MBA, RRT, Director of Respiratory Care Services, Holzer Health System. “Barbie is a wonderful therapist who loves caring for her patients. We are honored to recognize her as this year’s PHIL award winner.”
