Holzer Honors Susie Davis, RRT, with PHIL Award

Holzer Health System has selected Susie Davis, RRT, as the recipient of The PHIL Award. This annual award is part of The FACES Foundation's program to recognize exemplary respiratory care. The PHIL Award is the only nationally recognized hospital-based program that honors outstanding respiratory therapists, as nominated by patients, their family members, and other caregivers. This is the third year for Holzer to implement and present the PHIL award at our organization.

PHIL Award winner Susie Davis

Susie joined Holzer in December 2014. In 2013, she completed her education at the University of Rio Grande, graduating in the Respiratory Therapy program class. She is currently working in the Gallipolis Emergency Department. When asked about the PHIL award, she replied, “It is nice to receive this award. I like seeing patients get better, and the end goal is to see patients go home. I am proud to be part of this terrific team.”

Susie and her husband, Jonathan, reside in Wellston, and have one son, who is currently in the Engineering program at Ohio University. They enjoy traveling, being outdoors, taking pictures, and doing crafts.

Annually, Holzer will select one respiratory therapist from the nominations received. During an award presentation, the honoree is presented with a certificate and award sculpture entitled Appreciation, which was adapted by creator MK Shannon especially for The PHIL Award.

“We are proud to partner with The FACES Foundation to recognize and  honor our outstanding respiratory therapists,” said Luke Rice, MBA, RRT, Director of Respiratory Care Services, Holzer Health System. “Susie is a remarkable therapist who takes pride in providing great care. She goes above and beyond for her patients and colleagues. She is truly the epitome of a great respiratory therapist. We are honored to recognize her as this year’s PHIL award winner.”
