Holzer Making Strides Utilizes Zumba
Holzer recently had its fourth “Making Strides” event of 2024 at the Holzer Leadership and Innovation Institute. To celebrate health and fitness, June’s event was headlined by Deb Adkins, RN, a Zumba Instructor since March of 2010. Evie Stumbo, NP, Holzer Cardiology, helped as a REFIT instructor.
Adkins talks about the sessions, saying, “This was a great mixture of Zumba and REFIT, two very good methods of exercising and having fun. These are excellent cardio workouts that can be modified to any fitness level. Depending on participation, the movements work almost every muscle group.”
Adkins offers a Zumba class at Holzer’s Therapy and Wellness Center in Gallipolis every Tuesday at 5pm. These classes will go on through the end of July. Class sessions are $5. For any questions, call 740-446-5502 or go to https://www.holzer.org/health-wellness/wellness-center/classes--services--support-groups/.
Making Strides with Holzer is a healthy initiative designed to guide overall wellness for individuals in our communities. In efforts to improve the health and wellbeing of participants, each scheduled monthly event will be led by a Holzer provider or staff member focusing on a topic of their expertise. July’s event will be a Kids Safety Day at the Gallipolis City Park on Saturday, July 13, starting at 7pm. Participants will be able to tour emergency vehicles, meet emergency personnel, engage in fun activities, and enjoy Food Truck vendors. The classic Disney animated film, “Lilo and Stitch,” will play at dark! For questions, call 740-446-5901.
