Holzer Welcomes Chairman of the Board
Holzer Health System would like to welcome Gary Roach as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Gary joined the Board of Directors in 2009 with an extensive history at Wiseman Insurance Agency, where he has been for almost 40 years. He began working there in 1984 as part of the third generation to run the agency, which now boasts three family members making up the fourth generation.
“I am excited for this new venture as Chairman of the Board at Holzer,” shared Gary. “We have made great strides in the last few years at Holzer. Our teamwork and all-out dedication to our mission has produced wonderful results and awards; such as an “A” grade from Leapfrog in hospital safety, a four-star quality rating from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and many others. My goals are to continue building upon our success, improving the lives of folks in our community, and fostering the family relationship that we have come to know as ‘The Holzer Way’.”
Gary continued, “Holzer is an essential component of Southeastern Ohio,” shared Gary. “We provide not only great health care, but we are a major employer and vital to community development. Therefore, we have great responsibility. We cannot fail at providing great services and excellent employment opportunities for it will affect the area and vice-versa.”
With multiple degrees and certifications, Gary’s education history includes a bachelor’s in science in Animal Science from The Ohio State University, Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Workers Compensation Agent, Honorary Master of Public Service from the University of Rio Grande, Honorary Doctor of Public Service from the University of Rio Grande, and Certified Risk Manager.
He and his wife, Annie, reside in Gallipolis, Ohio. They have been married for 40 years and have four adult children, Maggie (Rick) Jackson, Nick (Lexie) Roach, Benjamin Roach and Jessica Roach. They also have three grandchildren, Stella, John, and Henry.
