Endocrinology
Endocrinology is the science of the endocrine glands. Endocrine glands are glands that discharge endocrine fluids from the body that help to combine and control bodily metabolic activity. This specialty deals with glands and internal secretions, especially diabetes.

Diabetes Self-Management Classes
To help you educate and maintain diabetes, Holzer offers diabetic education classes at our Gallipolis, Jackson, and Meigs locations. Individuals diagnosed with diabetes, or caretakers for an individual with diabetes, are welcome to attend.
Classes are divided into three sessions including diabetic self-care management, taught by a diabetic nurse educator, nutrition and diet, taught by a registered dietitian and includes individualized diet plans and carbohydrate counting, and a pharmacist attends the final class offering information on physical activity and prescriptions.
Diabetes Support Group
Holzer has formed a Diabetic Support Group for those diagnosed with diabetes and for any caregivers who would like to attend. Topics vary month to month with many guest speakers presenting.
