Acute Care Nurses
Holzer's acute care services are based at the main campus in Gallipolis, Ohio, at Holzer Gallipolis. Our acute care nursing staff is comprised of unit manager, clinical coordinators, charge nurses, staff RNs, staff LPNs, STNAs, telemetry monitor technicians, and unit secretaries. Acute care nurses work closely with the hospitalist group (Ohio Valley Physicians)
Departments include:
- 2 West:
- Medical/Surgical unit:
Med/Surg nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5, with a goal of 1:4, and not to exceed 1:6.
- General Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Telemetry capability
- Medical overflow
- CCU (Critical Care Unit): High acuity patients, ventilator management, specialized IV drip management, bedside procedures
CCU nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2-3, depending on the acuity of the patient.
- 4 West: Telemetry Unit that focuses on cardiac and pulmonary management, cath lab patients, chronic illnesses
- 4 East: Progressive Care Unit - Telemetry capability, chronic illnesses, medical management
- Float Nurses: No home unit, can float anywhere they have competencies with a focus on the med/surg units
